Dancing is one of the best exercises ever!
It’s fun, you get to meet new people, and makes you feel great because guess, what, all dance is excercise! If you’ve never danced before, just try it, right now, get up, put on your favorite music, and shake a little bit, put one foot out, then the other, twist around…
I remember seeing an episode of Will and Grace where Grace is taught that you can dance anywhere and everywhere – consequently she breaks dishes as she cleans up, but the idea is beautiful!
We humans have these amazing bodies, flexible, strong, and we can use them in almost anyway we like. Sometimes though, we neglect our bodies and become ingrained in using them in the same way every day – making some parts overworked, and other parts weaker from lack of use.
When we use our whole bodies to move, and move in new and unusual ways, our bodies thank us by giving us a boost of endorphins and adrenaline, making us feel fantastic! Our bodies are happier and this makes our minds happier, thus we are more able to make our loved ones feel more loved! Dancing is great because of flexibilty in movements – running is just the same thing, whilst dance will let many unused parts of the body come to life with youthful vigor! It is also great starting and integratable technique to add to regular excercise, for stress relief and your health!
Freestyle dancing is one of the quickest and easiest ways to do benefit your body! If you’ve never done this before, start alone, clear a space, find your favorite song, and just start wiggling!
How many styles of dancing are there? Acrobatic, ballet, ballroom, latin, swing, nightclub style, street, headbanging, and let’s not forget pole dancing! Check out your local directory and try em’ all out! Also have a look in your library or dvd store for various home videos for new routines in the comfort of your own home.
Once you find something you like you might feel that you love it so much you want to do it everywhere!
As some book I read said – ‘Just shake whatever feels like it’s going rotten!’
